Dr. Robert Whitcomb


Education: B.S. University of Wisconsin-River Falls (Business Administration and Economics) 1981; M.S. Colorado State University (Marketing) 1985; C.A.S. University of Maine (Educational Administration) 1995; Ed. D. University of Maine (Educational Leadership).

Dr. Robert M. Whitcomb brings 23 years of experience in higher education in private and public colleges and universities throughout the United States.  He has worked in the academic and students services areas as a faculty member and administrator. Most recently his focus has been on providing personal and professional development opportunities for small communities and tribal organizations throughout Southeast Alaska.  He has worked with tribes, village governments, social service agencies, hospitals and clinics, and educational institutions in assessing direction and creating data driven strategic plans.  He currently is the Director of Human Resources and Organizational Development for the Chilkoot Indian Association, a native sovereign nation in Haines Alaska.  He is responsible for all HR planning and development for the Association and serves as an organizational development resource for the Chilkoot Tribe and Borough of Haines community.  His current interests lie in the development of a “leadership pipeline” for Tribal members.
