Lady Terriers' Field Hockey looses tough battle against Lasell
Waterville, ME -- In a hard fought battle
by both Thomas College and Lasell College, the Terriers came up
short by a final of 3-1. The game featured 26 shots by the Thomas
College field hockey team but only one slipped by Lasells goalie.
Kellie Martel (Cambridge, ME) was set up by teammate Ali Kriegel
(Winslow, ME) off a corner to tie the game at 1-1 only four minutes
after Lasell scored their first goal of the game.
In the second half, the lady Terriers came out firing with 20 minutes
to go in the game. In a stretch of only a few minutes, Thomas held
their ground and put 9 shots on goal. After a timeout by Lasell, they
would score the go ahead goal and tack on another later in the half to
take the win.
The Terriers will next host the University of New England in a non-conference
match up on Thursday October 1, 2009 at 4:00pm.
