Duncanson reaches the 1000 point plateau
WATERVILLE, ME
-- On Tuesday night Thomas College Junior guard Andrew Duncanson (Westbrook, ME)
scored his 1000th point for the Terriers.
The score came with 1:14 left in the game as Andrew stepped to the free
throw line and as he has done so many times before for the Terriers sealed the
victory by sinking the free throw attempt.
This accomplishment comes just four games into his Junior campaign.
Andrew was the North Atlantic Conference Player of the year last season
which was his follow up to his freshmen campaign in which he took home the
Rookie of the year award by the conference.
Andrew being a complete player,
he currently leads the NAC in scoring, steals , assists, and second in
free throw percentage and fifth in rebounding.
Coach TJ Maines stated after the game "Dunc is one of the great players
in the history of Thomas Basketball.
He is the cornerstone of our team and is a big reason for the turnaround of our
program. He is also one of the most
humble athletes I have been around, his greatness
as a player is secondary only to the quality of person that he is."
Andrew played for Portland high school where he was a heralded basketball
and football star. He was all state
both his junior and senior years for the bulldogs in both sports.
Andrew will
take the floor next this Tuesday, December 1 at Bates College where he looks to
lead his team to a 5-0 start.
