DUNCANSON, RODGERS AND MAINES EARN TOP NAC HONORS

North Atlantic Conference honors were announced today and  Terriers Andrew Duncanson (So., Portland, ME) was named Player of the Year while teammate Shawn Rodgers (Fr., Philadelphia, PA) was named conference Rookie of the Year.  Head Coach T. J. Maines (3rd season, Colby '95) rounded out the awards for the Terriers  being named Coach of the Year.

Thomas sophomore guard Andrew Duncanson was named the North Atlantic Conference Player of the Year in a vote by the conference coaches. Duncanson, the 2008 NAC Rookie of the Year, led the league in scoring averaging 21.6 points per conference contest and was among the league leaders in assists (4.2 apg), steals (1.8 spg), free throw percentage (81.6%) and field goal percentage (47.7%).  Duncanson was named to the North Atlantic Conference First Team and classmate Isaiah Brathwaite earned Honorable Mention recognition.

Terrier  freshman forward Shawn Rodgers earned NAC Rookie of the Year honors. The first year forward led the conference in rebounding averaging 10.9 caroms per conference contest. Rodgers, who averaged 11.7 points while shooting 58.1% from the field, teamed with Duncanson to engineer a turnaround at Thomas that saw the Terriers improve nine wins in conference play from a season ago.

After leading his team to the top seed in the NAC tournament, Thomas’ T.J. Maines was named the NAC Coach of the Year.  Maines led his team to a conference 11-3 record and a first place seed in the NAC Conference Championship this weekend.
