Thomas Earns Tie
Thomas 2, Bay Path 2


WATERVILLE, September 30—Thomas College’s Women’s Soccer Team (5-3-2) tied with Bay Path College’s Women’s Soccer Team (4-4-2) 2-2, at Alumni Field. Bay Path College took a 2-0 lead, when Jacqui Siddle and Victoria Malonowski both kicked in goals in the first half. Thomas ties the game in the second half with two goals of their own scored by Karen Demers and Kristi Poland.

Thomas’ goal keeper Lindsay Thornton made six saves on 23 shots in keeping the game tied. Bay Path College’s goal keeper Samantha Gunseth made seven saves on 11 shots in slowing down Thomas’s offense.

Thomas College will next play the University of Maine at Presque Isle next on Saturday, October 6 at 1 p.m. at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.

Thomas Falls to Wheelock

WATERVILLE, September 29—Thomas College’s Women’s Soccer Team (5-3-1) lost to Wheelock College’s Women’s Soccer Team(2-5-0) 4-2, at the Alumni Field.Wheelock College was led by Lindsey Lacourse, who scored two goals in the game. Wheelock’s Nicole French and Ashley Dowd also chipped in with a goal each in earning the win. Thomas’ Karen Demers and Julia Nyitray both had a goal each to keep Thomas in the game.

Thomas’ goalkeeper Lindsay Thornton had three saves on 11 shots in keeping the game close. Wheelock’s Alyce Jordan made 10 saves on 22 shots in getting the win.

Thomas College will next play Bay Path College on Sunday, September 30, at 1:00 p.m. at Alumni Field

Manatt-Rogers scores twice in Lady Mariners 2-1 win over Thomas.

Castine, Maine - The Maine Maritime Women’s Soccer team hosted the Terriers of Thomas College in a NAC contest Wednesday. The Lady Mariners won the match 2-1, getting both goals from sophomore forward Diana Manatt-Rogers.

It was MMA who got on the scoreboard first when Diana Manatt-Rogers (Conway, MA) drove the ball from the right side of the box off the far post before it found the back of the net. Katie Hutchinson (Dixfield, ME) set up the MMA goal with a through pass to Manatt-Rogers. Thomas answered back with just 1:28 left in the first half when striker Karen Demers (Sanford, ME) broke free and dropped the ball over MMA keeper Lacey Jackson (York, PA) to knot the score at 1-1 going into the half.

Lacey Jackson (York, PA) got the win in goal for MMA improving to 6-2 on the season. Jackson made 1 save on 6 shots.  Lindsay Thornton (West Gardiner, ME) took the loss for Thomas giving up 2 goals.

Thomas Cruises to Victory Over  UMM

Waterville, September 8- Thomas College's Women's Soccer Team (3-0-1) beat the University of Maine at Machias Women's Soccer Team (0-3-1), 6-1, at Alumni Field Saturday afternoon. Thomas was lead by Brittany Morin, who scored four goals in the game. Thomas' Julia Nyitray and Marisa Prickowicz also chipped in with a goal each. The only goal scored by the University of Maine at Machias was kicked in by Sara Rushforth.

Thomas won the game behind solid goal keeping between Lindsay Thornton and Kayla Lessard, who combined made three saves on four shots. The Universiy of Maine at Machias goal keeper Alicia Schimdt made 17 saves on 35 shots in a losing effort.

Thomas will next play the University of Maine at Farmington on Saturday, September 15, at 2:00 p.m. at Alumni Field

Thomas Overwhelms UMA

Waterville, September 5- Thomas College's Women's Soccer Team (2-0-1) beat the University of Maine at Augusta (0-1-0) 10-1 at the Alumni Field. Thomas was lead by Julia Nyitray, who scored two goals and had one assist. Thomas' Kristi Poland also chipped in with two goals of her own. Brittanny Morin poured in three assists to help Thomas secure the win. The lone goal scored by the University of Maine at Augusta was tapped in by Niki Mathews.

Thomas College will next play the University of Maine at Machias next on Saturday, September 8 at The Alumni Field at 1 p.m.

.  Brittany Morin scored 2 goals and added 2 assists in weekend action as the Terriers opened their season with one win and a tie.  The Terriers tied UMFK on Saturday 2-2 and defeated UMPI on Sunday 2-0.
