Thomas College Softball First Place

North Atlantic Conference foe Lesley University (14-2 NAC, 22-8 overall) visits Thomas College (15-1 NAC, 18-9 overall) to challenge the Terriers for the NAC regular season title Saturday, April 26th at 1pm in a pivotal late season doubleheader in Waterville. The school with the best regular season conference record will host the NAC Softball Championship next weekend.

The second place Lynx from Cambridge, MA are poised to pounce on the opportunity to complete their best conference season to date. The only problem in the way is that Coach Paul Rodrigue has the Terriers in the top dawg spot of first place in the NAC.

This 1-2 matchup will be a dream softball matchup for sports fans.

The game will feature two of the best pitchers in the conference Alicia Burnett, Gulf Breeze, FL and Nicole Smith, Bucksport, ME. Each of them carry into the game an earned run average of less than 2 runs per game. Local Winslow High School graduate and the 2006 NAC Rookie of the Year Brittany Morin is scheduled to play as well.

The 2008 softball season marks Paul Rodrigue's sixth year as head softball coach of the Lady Terriers. Coach Rodrigue was inducted into the Maine Sports Legends Hall of Honor in 2005.
