Terriers Swept out of First Place

Thomas 2 Lesley 4; Thomas 0 Lesley 8 (5 inn.)

Waterville, Me -- Thomas College Softball team were swept against the Lesley Lynx this Saturday afternoon. The Terriers dropped their North Atlantic Conference record to 15-3. The Lynx improve their conference record to 16-2 and take over first place in the NAC.

In the opener, the Terriers fell behind early and were unable to get their offense going.

Terriers pitcher Nikki Smith (Bucksport, ME) had the lone RBI of the game, getting it on her only hit of the afternoon. Sarah Estes (Brewer, ME) and Lindsey Sierra (Turner, ME) scored the two Terrier runs.

Smith was the starting pitcher for the Terriers, she went seven innings, striking out eight, walking one and allowing four runs on 13 hits.

The Lynx received their offensive production from Lani Cabral-Pini(Wilmington, MA) and Alyson Durban (Stow, MA). Cabral-Pini went 3-4, with three runs scored. Durban went 4-4 with two RBI’s and a run scored. Combined both ladies scored all the runs for the Lynx.

Alicia Burnett (Gulf Breeze, FL) was the starting pitcher for the Lynx and she pitched seven complete innings, striking out eight, walking one and gave up two runs on four hits.

In the second game the Terrier offense was stymied by Alicia Burnett and the Lynx won the second game 8-0 in 5 innings.

The Terriers next home game will be on Sunday April 27 at 1:00 against Wheelock.
