VN-EZ1 Instructions (Downloading)

1. Access any PC in the Library Lab. Access any of the black DELL PC's in the library lab

2. Start PC and Log In. Start the PC and log onto the Thomas College network.

3. Remove SmartMedia Card from Camera. To remove the SmartMedia card from the camera, first turn the camera upside down. As you push on the bottom, slide the bottom as shown. Open the SmartMedia/battery compartment and carefully pull out the SmartMedia card.

4. Insert Smart Media Card into Card Reader. Carefully insert the Smart Media card into the card reader as shown. Make sure the gold side of the Smart Media card is facing the side of the card reader with the "Dazzle" sticker as shown.


5. Plug Flash Card Reader into USB Port. Plug the flash card reader into the USB port on the front of the PC as shown.

6. Windows XP Auto Play. A window should pop up asking you what you would like to do with the card you just inserted into the card reader.  If it does, then click on "Open Folder to View Files", click "OK" and go to step 9.  If this window doesn't pop up, then go on to the next step.

7. Go to "My Computer". Click on the Start Menu, and then click on "My Computer".

8. Double click on "Removable Disk E:"

9. Directory Structure. The card has two folders on it, "DCIM" and "DCMV".  "DCIM" contains pictures and "DCMV" contains video's taken by the camera. 

10. Double Click on "DCIM".  Double click on the "DCIM" folder, Double click on the "100SHARP" folder.

11. Copy files off of Flash Card to your X Drive. Select the pictures that you took (you can see a picture by double clicking on it) by holding down the [ctrl] key and clicking on each of them, then click on the "Edit" menu and click on "Cut".  Then click on the Start Menu, and click on "My Computer".  Navigate to your X: Drive. Then click on the "Edit" menu and click on "Paste".

12. Video.  To move a video file from the camera to your X drive, you will need to click on "DCMV" instead of "DCIM" in Step 10 and then using the same procedure to copy it to your X drive.
