Assistant/Associate Director of Admissions and International Recruitment

Thomas College is seeking a highly motivated Assistant/Associate Director of Admissions. This position will be responsible for all recruitment and application review of international students (first-year and transfer). In conjunction with the Director of Admissions and Vice President for Enrollment Management, this individual will create a recruitment plan and develop/strengthen relationships with key stakeholders. This position requires some travel abroad as well as domestic travel. In addition to the recruitment of international students, this person will have the opportunity to mentor current admissions counselors and work with Student Affairs on creating an international culture on campus. This individual will maintain regular office hours, but some night and weekend hours will be required. The ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to fifty pounds is necessary. This position will report directly to the Director of Admissions.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2-5 years of admissions experience with at least one year
  • working with international recruitment
  • Knowledge of how students receive student visas
  • Experience with diverse cultures and populations
  • Demonstrated initiative, planning skills, attention to details and accuracy
  • Strong peer networking building skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver’s license and passport
  • Superior oral and written communications skills

Preferred Credentials

  • Mentoring of personnel
  • Development of a recruitment plan
  • Knowledge of marketing techniques and channels
  • Advanced degree
