CAREER SERVICES CONTESTS!!

Help yourself and your friends prepare for the big bad world beyond Thomas! Enter our fun monthly contests and discover things like how to introduce yourself in 15 words or less, resume faux pas to avoid, the top ten things NOT to do/say  at an interview, etc. Win fun prizes!

Review the contest details and the rules below.   Send us your entry on or before the 15^th of the month, then visit the Career Services Office to vote for your favorite entries. Winners will be revealed in the weekly email updates and on the Career Services bulletin board.

Faculty and staff are also invited to play!!

Contest details – October

What should you ABSOLUTELY NOT do or say at a job interview? Perhaps you have had a personal experience in this area, or know someone who really blew it! Maybe you’ve been losing sleep worrying about the impending interviews in your life. Perhaps you just have an over-active imagination and too much time on your hands. Whatever the case, send us your thoughts. Entries will be posted on the bulletin board just inside the Career Services Office. We’ll determine the top ten things not to do or say at an interview based on the number of votes each entry gets.

Rules:

Must be within the bounds of good taste (would you want your grandmother to read this – and know you wrote it?).

Must be received in the Career Services on or before October 18^th.

If submitting a picture, there must be a caption to go with it (already there or your own words).

You can vote only once/month, but you can strongly influence the votes of your friends and teachers! Bribes to the CSO staff (flowers, whoopee pies from the caf, money, etc.) will definitely be considered.
