"The friendships I've made at Thomas have been nothing short of amazing; in such an intimate, tight-knit community, you get to know other students quite well. These are the relationships that will last long after I graduate, some for a lifetime. I’m also really excited to think about ten years down the road and see what we’ve become, reflecting back on how our Thomas experience helped to shape and guide us."

Guaranteed Job Placement Program

At Thomas College our annual graduate placement rate has exceeded 90% for more than 15 years. We are confident of our ability to provide solid academic programs and to prepare our students for successful careers. In 1999, the Guaranteed Job Placement Program* was established to highlight this strong belief in and commitment to our students.

Students qualify for this unique partnership by agreeing to:

-complete at least 90 credits toward their degree at Thomas College
-maintain high academic standards with a G.P.A. of 2.75 or better
-participate in an internship for credit in their major field of study
-develop a productive working relationship with the office of Career Services
-owe no balance to the College and not be in default of any loans

Through the Career Services Office, students are offered support and information for the career-planning and job-search process. Workshops and one-on-one assistance are available for self-assessments, resume and cover letter preparation, interview skills, employment search strategies, graduate school applications, employer expectations, business etiquette, and more. Career Fairs are held twice a year, and fairs offered by other schools are promoted. Students can opt to participate in on-campus recruiting and make contacts through our Alumni Career Network.

Thomas graduates are highly regarded and sought after by area employers, as evidenced by our placement record. But sometimes, despite great efforts, students are unable to obtain employment within six months of graduation, or cannot find work in their major fields of study.  Our pledge to these students is to continue to actively work with them in their employment search and, as an additional demonstration of our commitment, Thomas College will assume repayment of an individual’s federally guaranteed student loans during the time they are not working, for a period of up to one year. Students not working in their field of study are eligible to take additional classes at Thomas--up to six graduate courses, or unlimited undergraduate classes for up to two years, tuition free, to help them become even more marketable.

We believe in our students and this unique partnership. It’s that simple.
