What do the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner

What is the Internship Program?
The Thomas College Internship Program is an
academically oriented program that offers juniors and seniors in
four and five year programs as well as seniors in two-year programs an
opportunity to learn while being engaged in career related employment.
Interns will be working in a field that is directly related to their major
and/or graduate concentration. This is a chance to work with professionals in industry, business,
government, or a social service organization. Students work part-time or
full-time (see details below) for 12 - 15 weeks during the summer or one of the semesters.
The students are evaluated by employers and their performance is monitored by
the Director of Internships.
Students participate in an internship seminar consisting
of reading and discussing appropriate literature, maintaining a journal of
activities and demonstrating professional growth and development. Students are
required to conduct a presentation outlining their experiences that is open to
all members of the Thomas community.
Once in a position, students are expected to
work to their highest capabilities and to maintain the highest level of conduct.
While some internships provide payment, others do not. Students are
required to register for the Internship Program and they must pay normal tuition
for the academic credits they are earning on the internship.

their careers
Help students make professional contacts within
their fields
When possible - allow them the opportunity to "earn while
they
learn"
