Shared thoughts on internships...
"I think internships are a very important part of a college education. When I was a student at Thomas I had the opportunity to work at a job that taught employees at various local companies how to use a spreadsheet program. That experience not only helped me deliver better in-class oral presentations, but it also was the beginning of my college teaching. I've now been teaching college courses for over 15 years."

"It was a wonderful learning experience. I learned about office dynamics and many different office procedures. I learned about different laws and regulations by doing research for a FAQ website. In addition, I also worked with the lease program and Maine's current school funding formula, which touches on finance - my major. I would highly recommend taking an internship for the DOE!"

"I am thrilled when I go out into the community and people comment to me how wonderful our interns are. The employers always have such positive opinions of our students. And our interns bring the internship experiences into the classroom--what an enriching opportunity for us all. We are fortunate to enjoy this mutually beneficial relationship."

"The Enterprise Management Trainee Internship provides an extraordinary look at the business world. You work very thoroughly with local businesses, insurance agencies, corporate accounts, etc. The internship allows the student to discover the ways of managing an office. More importantly, the Enterprise Internship provides an excellent opportunity for job placement out of school."

"This summer, working at the Bank of Bermuda broadened my perspective on what my life would be like as an HR manager. Working at the bank made me organized and taught me how to manage my time. My overall opinion of working at the bank is good and I would advise any Bermudian student to get an internship there."

"Extremely valuable. Fast-paced job in a comfortable working environment. Stern but understanding supervisors who are easy to approach. The job as accounting/billing clerk was definitely a maturing/learning experience for me."
