Career Services
Update - week of March 13, 2006!
* Mark Your
Calendar – The Thomas College Career Fair is
tomorrow. We have 46 businesses planning
to attend. By clicking here
you can see a complete listing of who will be at the fair. The Career Services bulletin board (on the
first floor of the Admin building) also has a listing with information about
the companies and jobs they are looking to fill.
The
fair starts at 9:30am and will run until 1:30pm tomorrow (although try to be
there by 1:00pm. When you come to the
gym please register by signing in.
Company contact information will be provided if you’d like.
I
also have a survey I would like you to fill out about the fair. If you complete it and return it to the
Career Services office by Friday you will be in a drawing to win a Thomas
College sweatshirt.
It is important that you
attend this event even if you are not graduating this year. Some employers are looking for interns and to
fill part time positions too. Please
make an effort to stop in.
* Job Hunting (career
fair edition)– Ok,
so how will it go tomorrow? What should
you say? A brief introduction is a good
way to break the ice. It certainly helps
to spend a little time looking at the company websites before you go. That way you can say something that conveys
your interest. Remember, this is an
informational event – there is no harm in asking questions. It helps to have resumes handy, but you can
always take a recruiter’s business card and send a personalized cover letter
and resume after the fair. Please make
an effort to dress appropriately – that’s another way to convey you’re serious
about finding work. I’ll also have
resume paper at the gym in case you run out/low (I won’t be able to help with
printing them though…..)

latest job and internship openings.
Have a great week
– and I’ll see you tomorrow!
