Career Services
Update - week of April 24, 2006!
* Congratulations
New Hire! – Jenna
Veilleux has landed a Behavioral/Handicap Specialist Internship at Care and Comfort in
Waterville. Jenna will work this summer
with special needs children.
* Shake Hands With
The Governor – OK – It’s time to announce who will be
meeting with Governor Baldacci on Friday.
Drum
roll pleeeease……. Nikki Irish and Shannon Smith. Both Nikki and Shannon are working at least
20 hours each week and have completed internships along with maintaining very
high GPAs. Everyone who applied was
deserving – I’ll consider a van for next year.
*
Job Hunting Tips – If
you’re looking for work you’re probably doing some of your searching
online. Should you post your resume
online? How should you send your resume? Is your privacy protected? The Wall Street Journal’s Career Section has
a nice article dispelling
some of the myths of job hunting online.
* New Job Openings
– I had these
on last week – but they’re worth another spin.
The Chief
Medical Examiner for the state of Maine has an internship in their office
for the summer.
The
Maine State Bar Association needs a Program Coordinator
for the summer (this is a “job” as opposed to an internship). This has a marketing focus dealing with the
association’s continuing education seminars for their membership (keep in mind
a potential law student would also benefit from having this on their resume
too)
Both
of these positions can be found on our jobs posting website. They will not be viewable until the system
updates at midnight (like you needed another reason to stay up…). If you have any questions about either of
these positions please let me know.
Occupational
Health Research in Skowhegan has openings for a Form Developer and
a Software Support
Specialist.

Have a great week!
