Update - week of April 3, 2006!
* Congratulations
New Hire! – Kristy
Squiers spent part of her break securing a Business
Management Internship with Walgreens in Massachusetts. She will start her internship in June.
* Mark Your
Calendar – The Maine Recruiting Consortium is sponsoring
the Maine Tourism & Hospitality Fair.
The fair will focus on summer jobs, is open to all college students and
will be held this Friday April 7th from 1:00 – 4:00pm at the Augusta
Civic Center. You are encouraged to pre-register
online prior to the event.
* Job Hunting – I can’t stress enough the
importance of knowing the name of the decision maker when you apply for a
job. Sure, there are times when “to whom
it may concern” is appropriate – but don’t be afraid to pick up the phone and
ask who is in charge of hiring. You can
also make sure you’re spelling that person’s name correctly (many employers
will automatically rule you out if you don’t).
Maybe the most important aspect is that you give yourself an opportunity
to make an impression beyond what’s on paper when you take a chance and speak
directly to that manager.
* New Job Openings
– Child and
Family Opportunities is looking for a Finance Director. Lepage Bakeries is looking for an Administrative
Assistant and a Summer
Office Intern. Cianbro has 2
openings for Programmer/Analysts. Farris Law has a full-time Accounting
position. Energy East has openings for
Interns in IT
(in Augusta) and Accounting
in (New Gloucester).
