Career Services Update - week of September 26, 2005!

 

 

* Mark Your Calendar  –  It appears as though the fall recruiting lineup is good to go:

 

 

Berry, Dunn, McNeil & Parker will host an info session on Tuesday October 4th from 4:30 until 6pm in the Atrium.  This is ahead of their interview day on October 13th.

 

The Washington Center , a Thomas partner, will be here on campus October 12th discussing internship possibilities in our nation’s capital. 

 

Albin, Randall & Bennett will have an interview day on Friday October 14.

 

Dawson, Smith Purvis & Basset will have an interview session on Wednesday October 19th.

 

Care and Comfort will be on campus from 11:00am until 1:00pm On Wednesday October 19th.

 

MacDonald Page will have an interview day Thursday October 20th.

 

 Woodford’s Family Services will be on campus on October 20th.

 

Otis Atwell will conduct interviews on Wednesday October 26th.

 

MediaPower will be on campus October 26th.

 

The Internal Revenue Service will be recruiting on campus on Thursday November 3rd.

 

Sherwin Williams will be looking for Manger-Trainees on Tuesday November 8th.

 

The times for all of these will be posted when we get a little closer to them.  I will be sending emails to Accounting majors with more details (including contact info) shortly.

 

 

* Job Hunting Tips – I know that this space is normally reserved for happy news – but career management is a two way street.  Take a look at this article on the MSN Careers Page .  “Eight Signs Your Job is Doomed” gives you some insight into when your time might be up.  By being alert and proactive you could be in a position to avoid the unemployment line (that’s just a metaphor – they make you call on the phone now and that would be a queue…..). 

    

* New Job Openings – YES!!!  Things are heating up.  I wanted to highlight a couple of internships.  The Portland Sea Dogs are soliciting resumes.   Representative Mike Michaud is looking for interns for his Waterville office.   Beginning tomorrow you’ll be able to view an internship posting at Clear Channel radio in Augusta.  Please click here for the latest job and internship openings.
