* Career Information Day -  Monday October 18th Career Services is sponsoring an event that features speakers representing various professions.  Although primarily geared towards first-year students, everyone is welcome to attend a session.  This is a great way to meet someone who is working in your field of study.  The sessions will run from 3:00 until 3:50 (the coveted H spot) Here’s the lineup:

* Job Hunting Tips – What comes up when you type your name in Google?  You might want to check because recruiters are increasingly turning to the search engine to find out more about you.  There may not be a story there – but it’s worth a look.  The Wall Street Journal reports recruiters may find you on a former employer’s website.  If you didn’t mention that employer on your resume it may raise some doubts.

* New Jobs – The Jobs Posting has some great new opportunities including a summer internship with the Maine Games.

Have a great weekend!
