Teaching Philosophy:
I try to combine the theoretical aspects of accounting and finance with the practical application of business. I feel it is important that students gain both knowledge and experience through case studies, internships, and computer simulations. Today's accountant needs a broad background in a variety of technical, liberal arts, and business courses. The accounting program at Thomas College offers a unique blend of education with the experiences of the professionals on the faculty. The size of the college also offers an advantage to those students who want to be more than just a number in the crowd.

Additional Information:
My personal career has been involved in many aspects of accounting. I still have an active CPA practice where I continue to meet interesting and varied clients. As I consult these individuals and businesses, I see the importance of communicating financial information. Students should understand that accountants do not live in a vacuum. The current business environment is constantly changing and anyone interested in studying accounting must be able to adapt to these changes. The technical aspects of accounting should be expanded so that individuals can be prepared to someday be the decision makers in an organization.
