Welcome to Waterville, Maine
Waterville is a small city located in central Maine. Home to approximately 15,500 people, the city is a thriving community with three colleges, two hospitals, and a host of cultural and business opportunities.
The central location of Waterville offers abundant opportunities to residents and guests alike. The city is only 15 minutes from Maine's capital, Augusta, and is about 4 hours from Boston, Massachusetts. Within one to two hours of Waterville, students can enjoy miles of ocean beaches or many lakes for boating, fishing and swimming. Skiers and snowboarders enjoy the fact that our campus is within two hours of Sugarloaf, Saddleback and Sunday River ski resorts. Waterville offers a large network of hiking trails, some of which connect to the local college campuses.
Within the city of Waterville, students have access to shopping at large stores such as Wal-Mart, but also can experience our downtown area, which has a traditional New England setting. Main Street, or "downtown", hosts many cultural and art events throughout the year, such as the Maine International Film festival. Stores, diverse restaurant offerings, coffee shops, and galleries round out the downtown area.
