Four-Year Career Development Plan
Message from the director

Dear students,

Many students don't think about their career until junior or senior year, but we ask you to consider several specific career planning steps you can take each year, starting in your first year of college.

Why start in the first year?

Think about this question: "What kind of job do you want when you graduate?" with the choices ranging from A GREAT JOB! - one that you absolutely love - to the JOB FROM HELL, that dead-end job with the tyrant boss. Shouldn't be a surprise that everyone wants to find a GREAT JOB. In a great job, the company cares about its employees, management is very people-focused, success permeates the organization, and everybody benefits. You actually like going into work!

Every single one of you at Thomas can have the GREAT JOB you desire but you have to work at it, starting NOW. It is so important to take career planning and development steps throughout your four years at Thomas, and this four-year plan can help pave the way.

Please come into the Career Services office to talk with us about the details of this plan! We look forward to working with you.

Rich Grant, director of career services
