Thomas College Welcomes Brenda Garrand - Free Seminar

Brenda Garrand, President and CEO of Garrand Marketing will be on the Thomas College Campus as part of Career Services’ Fall 2013 Speaker Series. Ms. Garrand will be speaking to students, faculty and staff about Creating Your Professional and Personal Brand on Tuesday, October 1 from 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm in the Student Commons Oak Room. Brenda will discuss her experiences in the marketing industry and will speak about how she started her own business, which has had over 30 million dollars in capitalized billings.  The event will be open to the public, no RSVP required.

Brenda specializes in brand development and communications and founded her own marketing practice, Garrand in 1987. Brenda currently serves as the CEO for Garrand and is a member of the Gold Forum of the American Association of Advertising Agencies.  Today, Garrand is one of the most widely recognized marketing practices in New England and has clients in a variety of industries from all over the globe including Dunkin Donuts, Central Maine Power, and Hershey’s Milk and Milkshakes.

Garrand is an integrated marketing communications practice with expertise in advertising, public relations, public affairs, experiential marketing, in-person brand exposure, digital, interactive and web related marketing, design and branding.

Waterville Police Department Hires 4 Thomas Grads -

WATERVILLE, September 2013 – The next Business Breakfast, presented by Thomas College and the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce, will host Policy Director Mitchell Stein from Consumers for Affordable Health Care. His presentation will be “Consumers for Affordable Healthcare:  Changes Occurring on the State and Federal Levels that will Affect Small Businesses.” Stein will focus on tax credits available to small businesses federally, exchange development, and rating law changes in Maine. The breakfast will be held on Thursday, September 12, from 7:15 – 9:00 a.m. in the Spann Student Commons Oak Room on Thomas College’s campus at 180 West River Road in Waterville.

The Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce holds informative presentations on a variety of educational business topics monthly at Thomas College’s Spann Student Commons. The cost of the Business Breakfast is $15 for those members who register before the event and is $17 at the door. General admission is $20 for the public.
