The Forest Protection Division of the Maine Forest Service held the 2nd
Annual Maine State Wildfire Training Academy in June 2004 at Thomas
College in Waterville, Maine. The Maine Forest Service continues to
meet the needs of the fire departments by offering S130/190 courses plus
advanced courses on an annual basis in this academy setting. For

Poland Spring Basketball League - Summer 2004 |

This very popular league was run by our own
Thomas College Men's coach, Jim Libby. Boys and Girls high school
teams from all over central Maine competed for six weeks here at
Thomas and at the Alfond Center, also in Waterville. This league
was sponsored in part by Poland Spring Water. If you would like to

Soccer Maine - ONE WEEK

An overnight soccer camp for
boys and girls. Thomas hosted this camp for one week this summer - June

Thomas College Institute - JUNE 2004 |
|
HIGH
SCHOOL MATH AND SCIENCE TEACHERS! This year the Institute offered a
one-week course on how the Microsoft Excel application can be used at
the high school level to introduce mathematical concepts and complement
traditional pedagogical elements. Participants earned 3 grad level credits towards their master's program (CTE and MBA
students). One fee of $750 included all materials, meals, &
accommodations. Institute ran from June 20-25.

Maine Goal Cup - JULY 2004 |

This is a new camp for high school varsity soccer teams. Maine Goal
Cup brings their highly experienced staff to central Maine for two
