Be a Member of the Maine
Principals’ Academy
Class of 2005

ü       Would you like an opportunity to tone up your administrative skills and develop new ones?

ü       Would you like to share professional ideas, insights and concerns with other building administrators?

ü       Would you like to take a fresh look at your school and the way you and your staff approach each school day?

ü       Would you like to just kick back with colleagues to share your triumphs and frustrations?

You can achieve those objectives at the Maine Principals’ Academy to be held at Thomas College in Waterville, Maine  from July 10 - 15, 2005.  There is also a 1 day winter retreat held in January 2005.

Here is what one of our past participants said:
“The Academy was well thought out, well prepared, and well executed.  Speakers were excellent and in tune with our needs.  Follow-up and sharing was beneficial.  We were made to feel comfortable at all times both physically and emotionally.  Well done!”

Tuition for the Academy is $900 for Maine Principals’ Association members or $1110 for non-members. Tuition includes accommodations, meals, social activities and instructional materials.  The academy experience may be used as a component of an Administrators Certification Action Plan.  Graduate credit is also available. Talk to your superintendent - they’re very supportive and encourage administrative participation in the Academy.  Some are even Maine Principals’ Academy alumni.

The Academy program includes small groups settings for discussing information, team building activities, scheduled time for personal reflection and an individual personal leadership plan developed by each participant.  We also have a strong technology component integrated into the program.  There is even time built in for recreational activities!
