Our Mission
The core goal of the First Year Initiatives team is to
support first year students in managing the transition to
academic and personal success at Thomas College. In addition to
leading the peer mentoring program and supporting first year seminars, the First Year Initiatives
Team collaborates across campus to advocate for and partner with the students it serves.
Our Programs
- Peer mentoring program: Links first-year students with returning students.
Nationally certified by the College Reading and Learning
Association (CRLA).
- Common Read: Helps to create a common intellectual experience among the first-year students, faculty, and staff.
- First Year Seminars: Support faculty in the
development and implementation of the multitude of first
year seminar offerings.

8:00AM - 4:30 PM during the school year
8:00AM - 4:00 PM in the summer
