CLASS CANCELLATIONS

Thomas College classes are rarely cancelled due to inclement weather.

Overview: The Graduate and Continuing Education Division will begin using a new Storm Cancellation Policy effective January 2, 2006.  In the event of school cancellations due to a storm, all faculty members should be prepared to hold class online. This information will be shared with the students in the Spring 2006 newsletter and members of the faculty should add this information to their Spring course syllabus.

When Cancellations will occur:  In the event that significant snow fall or hazardous travel conditions are predicted for the Waterville area between 5 and 9 pm, classes may be canceled.  Since our primary concern is that of the safety, students and faculty are encouraged to exercise their own judgment about the weather and road conditions in their area.

Class Cancellation Process:  The cancellation process will be as follows:

  1. A decision on whether or not to cancel classes will be made by the Director of the Graduate and Continuing Education Division before 4pm on the day of class.
  2. An announcement will be emailed to the Thomas email accounts of all current students and faculty no later than 4 pm.
  3. Students and faculty can also call the Snow Phone at 859-1140 after 4 pm.
  4. Cancellations will be called into the following television and radio stations:
