How do I login to Office Communicator using Windows?
If yourusername@thomas.edu is not the sign-in address:
- Click on the drop-down in the top-left corner icon.
- Select Connect, Change Sign-In Address.
- Enter your email address (for example smithj@thomas.edu)
- Click OK to save these settings.
- Click the sign-in button and authenticate with your Thomas username and password.
- NOTE: Office Communicator may need to be configured differently, depending on if you are on or off campus. Please see the instructions on our personal computer setup page at https://update.thomas.edu for specific help related to your operating system.
The general settings are:
On-campus use: internal server: terrier4.tcnet.thomas.edu, connect via TCP.
Off-campus use: internal server: terrier4.tcnet.thomas.edu, external server: im.thomas.edu:8444, connect via TLS.
How do I login to Office Communicator using Messenger for Mac?
For On-Campus Use
- In Messenger for Mac 7.0.1, go to View, Corporate Contact List:
Choose Manually Configure Settings
Enter 'terrier4.tcnet.thomas.edu' for server (no quotes)
Choose TCP, then OK
Choose Sign In
Enter your email address, THOMAS\yourusername, and your password and check the remember password box
For Off-Campus Use
- In Messenger for Mac 7.0.1, go to Messenger, Preferences, Accounts, Corporate:
Choose Manually Configure Settings
Enter 'im.thomas.edu:8444' for server (no quotes)
Choose TLS, then OK
Choose Sign In
Enter your email address, THOMAS\yourusername, and your password and check the remember password box
