Advantages to Windows-based Cell Phones

Thomas recommends windows-based cell phones with WiFi for the best integration with our campus systems. This device enhances the student experience (academic and social) with increased mobility, enhanced communications, and online learning capabilities. Advantages are listed below:

Ability to integrate all communications in one device (phone, e-mail, IM, text messaging)
Ability to synchronize your e-mail, calendar, contacts and tasks with our Exchange Server
No computer-connection required to sync.
The smartphone works with our campus-wide WiFi network using WPA encryption.
Internet Explorer is included to browse the web.
Office Communicator Mobile can be installed for IM (or any public Windows Mobile software)
MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint is included to view or edit your files
A keyboard is included (many models)
A camera allows you to take still photos and video.
Media Player is included for playing digital music/video.
Many laptop features in a smaller device.
MiniSD card for additional storage (like digital cameras)
