JOB TITLE: Information Services Desk Supervisor

Position Summary (General
Descriptions/Primary Purpose)
This position includes
supervising of the Information Services Desk and all support functions provided
by the Information Services Desk including all first tier end-user Library and
IT support.
Class and Grade
This is a part-time hourly
workstudy position available from September to May. The progression path
for this position is to IT Specialist (if the position is open) or
Hardware/Software Support (if the position is open).
Essential Job Functions
- Trains and supervises I.S. Desk staff,
individually and in groups. (37%)
- Delegates and schedules work among I.S. Desk
staff. (4%)
- Advanced I.S. Desk problem resolution.
(33%)
- Assesses I.S. Desk staff capabilities and ensure
that procedures are followed. (13%)
- Learning all I.S. Desk services. (7%)
- Schedules I.S. Desk staff and approves/analyzes
timecards. (1.5%)
- Maintains appropriate printer supply inventory
levels. (1.5%)
- Meets weekly with supervisor. (3%)
- Oversees classroom computer lab and student
cluster availability and cleanliness.
- Communicates with other department members
regarding policies and procedures.
- Covers hours for no-shows and emergencies
- Implements and enforces College and department policies
- Available in an on-call capacity for I.S. Desk
problems.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Current junior or senior
- Management experience or education helpful
- Hardware and software experience helpful
- Familiarity of library resources and A/V
equipment helpful.
- Completion of all training and job related
projects
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally in
person, on the telephone, electronically, and in writing.
- Ability to effectively train others in I.S. Desk
procedures.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written
instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and effective problem
solving skills are required.
- Effective organizational skills are required.
- Ability to meet an assigned work schedule (aside
from class scheduling conflicts.)
- Possess keyboard skills necessary to complete
assigned tasks and functions (at least 50 words per minute)
- Ability to lift AV equipment such as projectors,
laptops and sound equipment and go up and down stairs.

essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using
