JOB TITLE: Hardware/Software Support 2
Reports to (Position): Assistant Director of IT Services

This position
includes end-user support, routine maintenance, and infrastructure support.
Class and Grade
This is a part-time hourly workstudy position available from September to May. The progression path for this position is to Hardware/Software Support 1 (if the position is open).
Description of Duties and Tasks (include estimation of time allocated to specific job tasks by percentage)
Essential Job Functions (the fundamental job duties, the reason the position exists)
· End User Support (40%)
o Diagnosing hardware and software problems
o On-call when needed
o Training faculty and staff
· Routine Maintenance (40%)
o Installing/configuring new computers
o Installing/configuring network adapters
o Repairing/upgrading PC hardware and software
o Repairing printers
o Maintaining inventory of hardware supplies (cables, adapters, etc)
· Infrastructure Support (20%)
o Building and installing cables
o Running plant cabling
o Researching, learning, and evaluating new software
o Documenting systems
