Use the Keyword Search when you know the topic, but not necessarily how the topic is defined by the Library of Congress. A topic word searched as a keyword will search everywhere in the description of the books and periodicals that are searched.
Use the Subject Search when you want to search a topic that has been labeled as such by the Library of Congress. A topic word searched as a subject will search only the one descriptor line identified by the library as a subject word.
Use the Title Search to look for a book or periodical for which you have all or most of the actual title. For example, you may search for the book Walden Two by B.F.Skinner using the title "Walden Two".
Use the Author Search to find a book for which you know the author; for Walden Two, use the "B.F. Skinner" or "Skinner".
You may search for materials using the Library of Congress (LC) Call Number. Note: the LC Number is not the same as an ISBN number.
