Thomas College Announces Partnership with Mid-Maine Communications for Discounted Internet Access
Waterville, Maine--April, 2005--Thomas College has expanded its partnership with Mid-Maine Communications to provide reduced pricing on Internet access options for students, alumni, and employees. For the past two years, Mid-Maine Communications has offered reduced dial-up pricing to the Thomas community. Now the company is also offering DSL and phone service at a discount.
Mid-Maine Communications, one of Maine's largest local Internet providers and provider of the College's T3 Internet access line, offers the best connection for Thomas students, alumni, and employees who want to connect to the College's network and services.
When the Internet backbone is busy, e-mail and web use is often only slightly affected. However, when online voice and video classroom applications are used, a busy or slow connection is often intolerable.
"As our classrooms start using voice and video applications to communicate with e-learning students, we need to make sure we are providing the best educational connections possible.", says Christopher Rhoda, vice president for information services.
