Waterville, Maine--May, 2002--Expanding the range of educational and work place opportunities available to Thomas College students, Thomas College announces a partnership with the Washington Center for Internships, located in Washington D.C.

Through the Washington Center, Thomas College students will have access to a full range of internship opportunities in Washington D.C. Sample assignments can include the United States Senate or House, Department of the Treasury, the Departments of Defense or State, CNN, Voice of America, and Smithsonian Institution.

Students participating in the program earn academic credit toward their degree at Thomas while working at their internship in Washington D.C. Student interns attend academic courses in Washington, and their experience is complemented by a variety of lectures and seminars that will enhance their time spent in the nation’s capital.

The Washington Center now joins the ranks of Thomas College partnerships with organizations such as the Portland Sea Dogs, the Maine Criminal Justice Academy, the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce, the E’cole de Gastion et De Commerce in France, and Putnam Investments.
