Margret Jaquemot is the Artist of the Month
Thomas is featuring the acrylic, gouache and mixed water media paintings of Margret Jaquemot in its art gallery during the month of August.
The Ellsworth resident is an award-winning artist whose work has been exhibited in shows throughout the United States and Europe. In addition to her paintings, Jaquemot also creates stained glass pieces and original woolen works. The gouache medium she uses is a type of paint that consists of pigment suspended in water. She is the co-director of the Acadia Artist Symposiums and president emeritus of the Millinocket Art Society. Jaquemot is a graduate of the Kunstgewerbe Art Institute in Trier, Germany.
Jaquemot’s work is on display in the College’s art gallery in its administration building at 180 West River Road in Waterville. The gallery is open to the public Mondays through Fridays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
