Thomas Features Craig Wratten

as Artist of the Month

            Thomas is featuring the photographs of Craig Wratten, of Winslow, in its art gallery during the month of January.
            Wratten is a self-taught landscape photographer. The majority of his color images are of the Maine coast or individual trees or trees as part of the landscape. He also has a special interest in coastal sunrises and sunsets.
            He holds awards from the In the Village Art Festival in Freeport for Best in Show Photography, and first place in photography from the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce Art by the Sea. Wratten’s images were also a part of MaineGeneral Health’s 2002 calendar.
            Wratten, a retired pharmacist, has degrees in chemistry, biochemistry and pharmacy, and attended Bethany College, the University of Wisconsin and the University of Connecticut.
            Wratten’s work is on display in the College’s art gallery in its administration building at 180 West River Road in Waterville. The gallery is open to the public Mondays through Fridays, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
