Audrey Nichols is Artist of the Month

         Thomas is featuring the fabric work of Audrey Nichols in its art gallery during the month of June.
         The Vienna resident gets the inspiration for her artwork from nature and cultures that believe in a connection between the earth and its life forms. In addition to being an artist who respects nature’s cycles and balances, Nichols also researches primitive cultures.
         She is an award-winning artist having won “Best in Show” in 2002 at the Vermont Arts & Crafts Festival in Stratton and Stamford Downtown Arts & Crafts Show in Connecticut. Nichols is part-owner of the Center Street Artisans in Rutland, Vt. She has a bachelor’s in fiber art from Arizona State University.
         Nichols’ work is on display in the College’s art gallery in its administration building at 180 West River Road in Waterville. The gallery is open to the public Mondays through Fridays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
