Thomas Features Rebecca Rivers as Artist of the Month

         Thomas is featuring the watercolor paintings of Rebecca Rivers, of Searsport, in its art gallery during the month of September.
         The award-winning artist has taken first place in the Bangor Open Juried show two years in a row, as well as second place for watercolors at the Maine Open Juried show in 2003 and 2005.
         Rivers’ work has been displayed in a variety of venues, including the office of Sen. Susan Collins in Washington, D.C.; Eastern Maine Medical Center; the Maine State capitol building; and Art Space Gallery in Rockland.
         When she’s not painting, Rivers runs a framing business from her home. She attended the University of Maine and the Dayton Art Institute, in Dayton, Ohio.
         Rivers’ work is on display in the College’s art gallery in its administration building at 180 West River Road in Waterville. The gallery is open to the public Mondays through Fridays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
