Ray Sirois to Present at Thomas College
WATERVILLE, Oct. 24 - Thomas College will host Ray Sirois, an experienced and
talented speaker who was selected to be one of 1,000 individuals trained as presenters by former Vice President
Al Gore and the scientists of The Climate Project, National Wildlife Federation, and the Union of Concerned Scientists.
The core of Sirois's presentation, titled "Global Climate Change, Local Climate Impact," is the
slide show which can be seen in the documentary film, An Inconvenient Truth. Sirois's presentation is an interactive one that
emphasizes the important role that public policy plays in the issue of global warming. Sirois discusses the action that society
needs to commit to in order to navigate these challenging times. Sirois includes in his presentation climate information and impacts
which are specific to Maine. In addition, he shares new information that was released after the film was produced.
Sirois will share his presentation on Thursday, November 1 at 7 p.m. in the Laurette Ayotte
Auditorium at 180 West River Road in Waterville. Admission is free and the show is open to the public.
