Work Ethics and the Multi-Generational Work Force at Next Business Breakfast

Thursday, May 3, at 7:30 a.m.

WATERVILLE, Apr. 27— The next Business Breakfast Series, presented by Thomas College in partnership with the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce, will focus on the changes in work ethics over the past four generations and the effects on today’s work force. The presentation will be held on Thursday, May 3.

Carol Albert, a branch manager at Manpower, a worldwide employment services company, will discuss the differences between the World War II generation, or “GI Gens” who were born before 1945, to the current “Millennial” generation—those individuals who are 30 or younger. Albert will also offer solutions on how to keep workers motivated, productive and interested in their careers in an effort to increase the performance of Maine’s workforce.

Albert has been a branch manager for 15 years, working with hundreds of companies to place job applicants in their field of work. Founded in 1984, the Maine branches of Manpower currently include 12 offices. The company has worked with 95 percent of the Fortune 500 companies within the region and has helped to employ thousands of workers each year.

The presentation will be held in the College’s Student Center Atrium on campus located at 180 West River Road in Waterville. The public is invited to attend. The program begins at 7:30 a.m.

The cost per person is $13 for members with advanced registration, $15 for members at the door and $18 for non-members. Contact the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce at 873-3315 or info@midmainechamber.com for registration information.

The sponsors for the Business Breakfast Series are: TD Banknorth Insurance Agency, Inc., KFS, PFBF Certified Public Accountants, UniTel, Inc., and Weeks & Hutchins, LLC.
