1767 miles completed, $1,948 raised

WATERVILLE, April 24 — Thomas students, faculty and staff ran or walked 1765 miles and raised $1,948 during the first Jennifer Lowe Smith Scholarship Relay Race last Friday night.
The six-hour race was in memory of Jennifer Lowe Smith, a criminal justice major who died tragically in a motorcycle accident. A scholarship fund was created to honor her memory.
Dozens of current students as well as members of Thomas’ faculty and staff ran or walked around the track in the Ryan Field House from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. carrying batons before handing them off to the next runner.
