on Maine’s Energy Future

Next Business Breakfast Series Slated for January 11

         WATERVILLE, Jan. 2 — Thomas College, in partnership with the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce, will hold the next edition of its Business Breakfast Series on Thursday, January 11.
         Kurt Adams, chairman and commissioner for Maine Public Utilities Commission will present “Maine’s Energy Future: A Path Forward for Business and Communities.”
         Adams was appointed to MPUC in June 2005. From 2003 until his appointment, Adams served as chief legal counsel to Governor John Baldacci. Adams is a former lawyer for Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson. He received his law degree from the University of Maine School of Law in 1997. He also received a master’s in international affairs from The George Washington University in 1990 and a bachelor’s in government from Skidmore College in 1988. Adams’ MPUC term expires in March 2011.
         The presentation will be held in the Atrium in Student Center building on the Thomas campus located at 180 West River Road in Waterville. The public is invited to attend. The event begins at 7:30 a.m.
