What Surprises are in Store for Us This Legislative Session at Next Business Breakfast

WATERVILLE, January 3 - The next Business Breakfast Series, presented by Thomas College in partnership with the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce,
will focus on what surprises are in store for us during this Legislative session. The presentation will be held on Thursday, January 10 at 7:30 a.m. in the Student Center Atrium.
Kristine Ossenfort will provide an update on the latest issues coming before the Legislature that will affect our business members. Topics will include the
usual suspects of health care, tax reform, and spending reform, plus an update on the hot school consolidation issue.
Ossenfort is a senior governmental affairs specialist with the Maine State Chamber of Commerce, representing the Chamber and its members on health care issues
before the Maine Legislature and various state agencies on issues related to health care and health insurance. She joined the Maine State Chamber in March of 2003, after nearly seven
years at the Maine Department of Professional and Financial Regulation, serving as the Special Assistant to the Commissioner for Public and Legislative Affairs from 2000-2003.
As special assistant to the commissioner, Ossenfort served as counsel to the Commissioner and as the Department's legislative liaison, representing the Department before the
Maine Legislature on a variety of issues, including health insurance, workers' compensation, financial services and professional and occupational licensing. She is a graduate of
Vassar College and Syracuse University College of Law.
The presentation will be held in the College's Student Center Atrium on campus located at 180 West River Road in Waterville. The public is invited to attend. The program begins at 7:30 a.m.
