WATERVILLE, May 21--Thomas College will host a group from
Rotary International's group study exchange program on Friday,
May 21. The group consists of four German professionals who
specialize in the fields of marketing, communications, sales,
product management and research. They are led by Waterville's Raffi DerSimonian, who has recently returned to Waterville after
a month-long Rotary International vocational exchange in
Germany. The group will meet with Thomas' Strategic
Marketing Committee (SMC), made up of representatives from
Admissions/Enrollment Management, Graduate and Continuing
Education, Public Relations/Institutional Advancement and
Marketing Faculty. With three of the four members of the
exchange group being in the fields of marketing and
communications, the interest in how these areas are handled at
Thomas seemed a great topic for an international exchange of
ideas. "I thought that this could be an interesting and
educational opportunity for them to learn about how one of our
region's top educational institutions approaches these
elements," says DerSimonian. The group will have the
opportunity to learn about Thomas College as an institution, and
then participate in a presentation from members of Thomas' SMC.
They will also be treated to a campus tour and picnic lunch.
