THOMAS COLLEGE
The Department of Recreation and Intramural Programs
introduces:

Spring 2008

How Pumped Are Participants?
1. To
register for this program you must meet with our
Personal Trainer.
The trainer will be here on MONDAYS and
TUESDAYS from 1:00 - 3:00 PM beginning January 14th.
You will be asked to register your given name and to chose a "work
out" name that we will post on our "Get Pumped" chart displayed in
the fitness center window.
2. The
trainer will conduct a fitness assessment to determine your baseline
level of fitness. This assessment will include: % body fat
measurement, flexibility measurement, and cardiovascular endurance
measurement (determined with a 3-minute step test)
3. Once this
baseline level of fitness is measured, the trainer will work with
you to set realistic measurable goals.
4. The
trainer will then help you write a personalized fitness program
tailored to your individual fitness goals.

5.
THEN, for every 15 minutes
you commit to your fitness plan you will
receive a point
in the "THOMAS GETS PUMPED" program. You
will be able to log in your time at the Front Desk in a way similar
to the "Thomas Goes The Distance" program.
6.
For every time you stop in and meet with the trainer regarding your
fitness plan you will receive2
points! In fact, we will
give you 4 points
for just meeting with the trainer for your
initial fitness
level assessments!
7.
For every 3 hours
(12
points)
of time spent working on your personalized
fitness plan you will be eligible for a ticket placed in a
drawing to occur at the end of the semester.
Prizes will be
awarded before the end of Finals Week.
SO Thomas -
are
you
ready to...
Program
starts January 14th!

Debbie Myers
Precision Health & Fitness
AFAA Certified Personal Trainer & Fitness Councilor
AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor
After graduating from Thomas College in 1992 with a B. S. degree in
Business Teacher Education, Debbie spent the first three years
gaining work experience in the fields of business as well as
education. She obtained a teaching position at Lewiston Regional
Technical Center in the fall of '95. After taking some time away
from the work force to begin raising a young family, she decided to
work for myself teaching health and fitness. The name of her small
business of over three years is Precision Health & Fitness. She's
registered with the town of Sidney where she lives and carries valid
liability insurance. She just renewed a contract with Maine General
Medical Center where she teaches prenatal yoga and a postnatal
fitness class. This is her third year having the contract.
To maintain her certifications (she is certified in group fitness as
well) she has to keep her skills and knowledge up to date, and is
required to obtain a minimum of 15 credits every two years to
re-certify. This includes keeping Healthcare Provider CPR
certification, which is also re-certified every two years.
She
loves what she does and she's very passionate about the profession.
