About COSMA: COSMA is a specialized accrediting body that promotes and recognizes excellence in sport management education in colleges and universities at the baccalaureate and graduate levels. Institutions, students, employers, and the general public all benefit from the external verification of quality provided through COSMA’s accreditation process. They also benefit from the process of continuous quality improvement that is encouraged by COSMA’s developmental approach to promoting excellence in sport management education.
Dr. Don Cragen, Assistant Professor in the Business Department and Faculty Senate Chair stated, "The COSMA accreditation was an important step for the Sport Management program. It was a culmination of a concerted effort by many people to ensure that our students are graduating with the most current information and are well prepared for post graduate success. The accreditation places the Thomas College Sport Management curriculum as one of the strongest programs in Maine. Thomas is the first institution in the state and the only in New England to hold this accreditation. It speaks volumes to the ability of our students, current and past."
