"The friendships I've made at Thomas have been nothing short of amazing; in such an intimate, tight-knit community, you get to know other students quite well. These are the relationships that will last long after I graduate, some for a lifetime. I’m also really excited to think about ten years down the road and see what we’ve become, reflecting back on how our Thomas experience helped to shape and guide us."

Health Center

The Thomas Health Center is located on the first floor of Grant Hall with hours available to both residential and commuter students. Health Center services include treatment services for the acute care of common medical health problems of young adults, follow-up care to medical treatment, and referrals. A health care professional works with students and pays close attention to their physical, psychological, and preventative care needs and is able to diagnose, treat, and provide prescriptions for most problems. Students with certain emotional or psychological issues are referred to a counselor best suited for the situation.

The Health Center emphasizes important features such as heath education and campus outreach components focused on medical, psychological, and social aspects of healthier lifestyles; preventive immunization, tuberculosis screening; student participation in planning and reviewing prevention, health education, flu vaccinations, and quality treatment services for the acute care of common medical health problems of young adults including women’s health issues, sports related injuries and follow-up care to medical treatment.

To better enable the Health Center to provide appropriate medical care, it's important that the completed physical history and immunization forms are filed with the Health Center by the end of August. This should include notice of any allergies or special information needed to best meet the health needs of the student. Please note that all students are required by Maine State Law to provide the College with a complete immunization history record before being allowed to register or attend classes.
