Having
a student go away to college can be a stressful experience for
families. This article provides
some coping strategies and "food for thought" that may help
during this time of transition
Getting involved on campus and in the community benefits
students in many ways - it's a proven fact and as a parent or
family member of a student, you can encourage them to get

day, there are always events happening on campus...from athletic
events, club and organization meetings and more. Check out

sign up to receive the same weekly "What's Happening"
newsletter that your student receives every Friday - this way,
you too know what's going on in case you hear those words..."I'm

Few
would argue with the notion that leaving home for college is one
of the most challenging passages in a young person's life.
Adapting to a new environment, making new friends, handling the
rigors of academic life -- and all without the safety net of
onsite parental support -- can make the first few weeks at
college a difficult and emotionally wrenching experience for
