Rick Whalen ’93 – Marketing Management

Recently accepted a position with Choice Investments as a Financial Advisor. Rick was very involved on campus as a student and was a four year member of the soccer team and club hockey teams. He had this to say about how Thomas helped prepare him – “Over 20 years ago Thomas College helped shape me into the person I am today, both personally and professionally. At the time I certainly couldn’t appreciate all that I would absorb and learn from those experiences, challenges, successes and failures. Thomas got me ready for the “real world” and continues to support me as I move forward in my life and career!”

Brad Marin, M.B.A. ’10

Recently accepted a position with Robie Builders LLC in Windham, ME as a Project Manager. He had this to say about how Thomas helped prepare him – “My degree from Thomas College has allowed me to be very versatile at my new position as a project manager. I am able to utilize my financial management skills to ensure projects come in on time and on budget. In the fast paced, high energy construction industry, the ability to develop concrete relations with co-workers and other professionals is paramount. Thomas MBA classes with HR relation focus, helped prepare me to be able to navigate those challenges and gain new understandings of the marketplace day by day.”

Mark Winship ’97 – Computer Information Systems

Recently named Senior Vice President, Technology Risk, Regulatory and Governance at TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank, in Portland, ME. Throughout his career Mark has held increasingly senior roles in financial services, consulting and technology organizations. Mark had this to say about how Thomas helped prepare him – “Thomas provided me a solid foundation on which to start my career. The curriculum included not only the necessary technical skills required to enter the workforce in my chosen career path, but a broad business background that has been critical in the real world.”

James Godley ’06 – Communications – Public Relations/Marketing Concentration

Recently named Vice President of Human Resources at Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft, ME. Along with excelling in the classroom, James was also a standout on the basketball court where he scored 1,426 points – putting him at 9th all-time on Thomas’ scoring list. James had this to say about how Thomas helped prepare him – “Thomas College instilled a sense of personalized education and relationships that I apply in my role today. Thomas grows innovators and leaders that are prepared to make an impact immediately. My professional success can be traced back to roots developed at Thomas College.”
