Kathi King
Mrs. King is
presently the Mathematics Department Chair at
Messalonskee High School in Oakland, Maine. She
received her Bachelors Degree and Master's Degree in
Mathematics at California State University at Northridge
and has been teaching mathematics at the secondary level
for 30 years in Asia, California, New York and Maine.
Mrs. King was recently appointed to the National
Assessment Governing Board (NAGB), which oversees the
Nation's Report Card - (NAEP) for the United States
Department of Education. She has also worked with the
U.S. Math & Science Initiative to support Professional
Development required by the No Child Left Behind
Legislation. Mrs. King has participated in numerous
professional development workshops with Texas
Instruments, Vernier, Key Curriculum, College Board, and
Network of Educators in Science and Technology (NEST) at
MIT. She is a frequent presenter at local, state and
regional conferences. Mrs. King has developed a series
of Labs, which closely align to National and State
standards, and are on the cutting edge of bringing
technology into the classroom to rigorously support
traditional curriculum.
