Mark Carrier graduated in 1983 and stays connected to Thomas College in a variety of ways, including working with four other alumni in the accounting firm Ouellette and Associates in Lewiston.
How did Thomas College make a difference in your career?
My Thomas College education gave me a solid base for my career. As people say, “You never really stop learning.” That has proven to be very true throughout my career and with that base, the opportunities to enhance your knowledge never ends.
Why are you committed to living and working in Maine?
I was born, raised, and obtained my education in Maine. The quality of life and the work ethic of Maine people has made my family and me very happy.
What do you love about your job?
There’s a daily change of pace and perspective that public accounting provides because you work with a diverse array of clients. And, I enjoy assisting clients with their tax and accounting needs.
In what other ways are you involved in your community?
I’ve served on the board of the local hospital, as well as the local youth hockey association. When my kids were younger and participating in sports, I was also involved as a coach. Ouellette & Associates aids in the fundraising activities of many local, non-profit agencies.
Why is it important to give back to Thomas College?
I have been very impressed with the College’s growth and development since I attended. My education provided me with the opportunity to have a successful career. It’s important that Thomas continues to provide a great education to the next generation of business leaders.
